"Soft Sides" is a guttural apology
to anyone who would have
liked her before
YOLKNESS used to be disarmed and disarming; soft-sided and open
like a daisy to the sun.
Until events would converge to break
that peace forever.
"Soft Sides" was self-produced by YOLKNESS,
who performed all instrumentation.
Drum samples were tracked by Olaf Phillips,
who also mixed and mastered the track.
Gritty, guitar-heavy post-punk production:
the sound of metal pushed past its bend point, fatiguing the way strength does under years of stress. Soft flutes lament. YOLKNESS's direct, sober vocals oscillate between acceptance and rage.
The music video was filmed in San Pedro, California by Roaming Fans, and edited by YOLKNESS.
